Unboxing: 'Pure and Simple' July BDJ Box

We're back to basics with BDJ's July box, guys.

And before I even tell you more about said box, I'm gonna tell you this now - I like the concept of this run. We're all so busy that sometimes, all we can afford to do is the most basic of the basics when it comes to skin care and makeup. But that's alright. With their July box, BDJ is reminding us that it's the basic stuff that makes the strongest impressions. So even if the basics are all we could afford, that's ok. The important thing is that we are taking time to take care of ourselves. That's how I like to look at it, anyway :)

Now, onto the box itself. Did you notice anything different about this one?

The size of the box, maybe? The July box is twice the size of the regular BDJ Box, yes! How awesome is that?!

Anyway. Why is this box so huge, you may ask. Well let's take a look inside and find out.

Ah so that's why. How ever would they fit all these in a regular box? The full-sized fragrance mist bottle alone wouldn't fit in there.

Keratin Complex Travel Valet Care Kit (shampoo and conditioner)
Pink Sugar Fine Fragrance Mist
Celeteque Back Acne Spray
Nivea Pure Effect Exfoliating Wipes
Nivea Black & White Invisible Spray
Nivea In-Shower Skin Conditioner
Enchanted Shimmer Eye Palette
Vitress Hair Repair Citicle Coat
Vitress Heat Protect Cuticle Coat
Hygienix Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel
Hygienix Anti-Bacterial Hand Spray
Envie Aestheticare & Medspa voucher

Following the Pure and Simple theme, BDJ put together an assortment of basic products for everyday use.

First there's this Keratin Complex hair care duo. The brand's new to my ears, so I'm excited to try these out.

These are claimed to provide gentle cleansing without stripping off nutrients from the hair and scalp. I hope my dry scalp would approve.

Next is something I'm already loving.

I've been using this Pink Sugar fragrance mist almost everyday since I received the box. I got mine in the scent Be Happy, which was said to be a mix of floral extracts and yellow plum. I do love the scent. It's perfect for everyday!

Now the next product is something I've already tried before.

I first got to try this Celeteque back spray through Sample Room. While I don't suffer much from back acne, I still use this to help avoid dead skin build-up on my back.

Next are products from Nivea.

I thought these Nivea cleansing and exfoliating wipes would just be the same as the other cleansing wipes I've tried before, but I thought wrong, apparently. The first time I used this, I immediately noticed how it's not as wet as other wipes. Then I also noticed that these were actually textured wipes. The sheets have a smooth side and an exfoliating side. The exfoliating side has tiny bumps that gently exfoliate the skin as it cleanses. And even though these aren't as wet, one sheet can still remove most of my everyday-makeup. I, however, still use this along with Bifesta to make sure my face will really be makeup-free after cleansing and washing.

Happy to see one of my fave deo sprays here as well. I've already tried and repurchased this a few times before 'coz I like it. And so cute the mini spray bottle, right??? The first time I saw the mini version of this deo was back at a local convenience store in Kuala Lumpur. I remember wishing for this size to be available for purchase here as well because it's perfect for travel.

There's also a sample of the new In-Shower skin conditioner, which I've yet to try.

Next up: makeup. Another one from the brand Enchanted.

I remember this from the July 2013 BDJ Box. I got the neutral theme back then (Pixie Dust, if I remember correctly). This time I got the After Midnight smokey eyes theme.

The next products are from Vitress, a brand that's not new to all our ears, I'm sure.

Vitress' hair cuticle coat is one of those products that have always been on my dresser. I don't use oil/serum/leave-on for my hair often but when I do, it's Vitress I reach out for.

Next is something I've also been using for a while now - Hygienix hand sanitizers.

Hand sanitizer is one thing I cannot leave the house without. I keep one in my bag, one on my work desk and one on my dresser. I like that Hygienix sanitizers come not only in gel but also in spray form. Plus, I love the scent!

Last but not the least is this voucher for a free service from Envie Aestheticare & Medspa.

I'm actually planning to use this sometime soon. I'm thinking... IPL treatment? Hmmm.

And that's everything inside the jumbo-edition July BDJ Box! This box is worth thrice the subscription fee of 580 Php. Really worth it! If you want to get your hands on your own BDJ Box, visit to subscribe. The August boxes have just been shipped, so expect another unboxing post sometime soon :)

Don't forget to visit @BDJBox on Twitter and Facebook for updates and contests. They often give away boxes on there!

Disclaimer: Box was received for free, but the views and opinions expressed in this post are purely mine and based on my own experience with the products inside it.

  1. Although i don't find the content exciting (cos the brands aren't new to me), i still like the products included cos they're definitely useful :)
