Strip Manila Gingerbread Cookie Wax

Hi everyone! Hope you enjoyed the first part of your holiday celebrations ;] Now's a great time to head on to Strip Manila and try out their new wax this holiday season - the Gingerbread Cookie wax! Ahh, the name alone's enough to make me crave for something sweet this time of night (FYI, it's 3:30 am right now while I'm typing this post. Hihi.)

I was able to visit the Greenbelt 5 branch of Strip Manila a couple of weeks ago to try the new wax.

Strip-Browhaus Manila currently has two branches - one at Greenbelt 5, one at Serendra. I hope they open one closer to my place so I could visit them more often :)

Let me give you a quick tour of the place first.

Upon entering the salon, I was greeted by this hairy cutie.
Wanted to take him home <3
Browhaus area. Apparently, Strip and Browhaus are sister companies.

So colorful inside :)

My experience: I went to get my underarms waxed. As I've told you earlier, this was the first time I had any part of my body waxed. I used to just shave my underarms. I didn't expect the whole waxing process to be too painful because I was used to plucking already, and I thought waxing was simply plucking several hairs at a time. And underarms lang naman. Anyway, so I was asked to enter the waxing room and then given a few minutes to settle in. Then I was asked to take my top off and cover myself with the towel provided because the top I was wearing wasn't loose enough on the arms. Then it's waxing time. Ahhh, the sweet smell of the gingerbread cookie wax, as it was being spread on my underarms, inevitably reminded me of real cookies (esp. the ones I had baked a few months back. The 'frosting' I made had the same smell as the gingerbread cookie wax :D). That alone was enough to make my first waxing experience enjoyable. And I also didn't feel any pain at all! Totally painless. After waxing, Ice Cream (a soothing and calming cream) was applied on my underarms to lessen the redness. The whole procedure was pretty quick, too. If I remember correctly, it only took about 10-15 minutes for both my underarms to be waxed.

I didn't experience any irritation or discomfort at all during and after the waxing process. I felt really comfortable getting waxed at Strip because their HSQ mantra - Hygiene (use of gloves and absolutely no double-dipping of spatulas!), Speed (waxing takes a maximum of 15 minutes) and Quality (only the highest grade of waxes and creams are used). Plus, my Striperella was also really nice and friendly, and she was able to answer all my questions. A Waxpert, indeed.

Over-all, I had a quick but enjoyable and totally painless first waxing experience at Strip Ministry of Waxing. I'm def gonna come back for another waxing session and maybe get other parts of my body waxed, too.  *wink* Feels nice not having to shave my underarms every time before going out :)

Ooooh, candy cane! This reminds me of something - this is a bit off topic but you guys
HAVE to try peppermint truffles! The peppermint and chocolate combo is a revelation!

In case you're wondering, underarm waxing at Strip Manila costs P650 at the least. Follow Strip on Facebook and Twitter and visit for more info on their different waxing services.

Thanks Ms. Kira and Ms. Monique for the invitation! :)
