Review: Snoe 'Here Comes the Sunblock' Instant White SPF 45 Sun Lotion

I was never the sunblock user. I remember using Coppertone before swimming when I was a kid - that's it. Applying sunblock was never really my thing. Too lazy for it (haha). I got myself a legit sunblock a few months ago but ended up being (yes, you guessed it) too lazy to use that regularly. But things are different now, thanks to this product from Snoe :)

It's Snoe Beauty's Here Comes the Sunblock Instant White SPF 45 Sun Lotion with Bengkoang. (What a mouthful, that one!) If you have read my intro post about the brand Snoe and their products, then you would already know how what I like about this product.

Description (from Snoe): Instant white SPF 45 sun lotion with bengkoang (singkamas). Moisurizes, whitens, offers damage protection, contains anti-oxidants, non-greasy, paraben-free. Bengkoang, which contains vitamin C, flavonoids and saponins, is a natural sunscreen that prevents skin damage brought about by free redicals. It effectively inhibits the formulation of melanin and pigmentation due to hormones and the sun, as it prevents and reduces acne scars. This lotion will immediately transform your skin with a with a whiter complection that comes with anti-aging effects.

Ingredients: Deionized water, dimethicone ( cetearly dimethicone), cetyl alcohol, propyl alcohol, PPG, bengkoang, papain, enzyme, glutathione, allantoin, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, tocopherol, phenoxyethanol, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, Neo Heliupan BB, ascorbate, beeswax, aloe vera extract, lycopene, fragrance.

Here comes the sunblock, and I say... it's alright!
So you see... it not only protects your skin from the harmful rays of the sun - it offers a whole lot more than that.

Now let me talk about the packaging first. I think the yellow theme is very fun and sunblock-appropriate, and it's pleasing to my eyes. I'm not a fan of the bottle itself, though, because it is a bit hard to squeeze. For lotions, I like the easy-to-squeeze bottles, tubes or those with pumps. My bottle is still quite full so dispensing the product is not so hard yet but I think once there's only little product left, it will be hard to get the product out.

Now onto the product itself! This sunblock has an SPF of 45. The product I have that has the closest SPF to this is the San San Soleil Matte Foundation, and that one has SPF 43. There a lot of things that, I believe, are important to know about SPF, and I'll talk about them in another post.

The first thing I do after opening a bottle of anything is smell the product. And this sunblock smells sooooo gooooooood! All the Snoe products I own smell good. The scent is not the usual sunblock scent. I'm not good in describing scents but trust me, this one smells amazing <3

Here's what it looks like on my skin.

Unblended, semi-blended, blended

I use this sunblock mostly for my face. So far, it hasn't broken me out or caused any irritation.

With no makeup on
L: Without sunblock
R: With sunblock
See how my face appears brighter with this sunblock on? I'm not very into whitening my skin anymore but I really like how this product instantly whitens and brightens up my skin! The whiteness that it gives appears to be very natural, not like the white cast/ghost-whiteness that I get from other products with SPF. Since this has bengkoang, I believe that as I keep on using it, the whitening process will continue.

The consistency of this sun lotion is similar to that of regular body lotions. It's non-greasy, indeed, and it's very easy to apply and blend into the skin. I don't quite feel the moisturizing effect, though, but this product doesn't leave my face dry.  That's still ok for me because I always use a moisturizer, anyway.

Thumbs up:
  • Protects my skin from the harmful rays of the sun - It has SPF 45.
  • Instantly whitens and brightens up my skin - The whitening process continues as I keep using the product.
  • Non-greasy and easy to apply
  • No white cast on photos
  • I haven't experienced irritation so far - I've been using this mostly for my face.
  • Affordable - It's priced at P199 for 100ml of product.

Thumbs down:
  • Bottle is hard to squeeze
  • Not a very big deal to me but I don't quite feel the moisturizing effect

This is definitely one of my favorite products from Snoe! I'm so glad they have a branch near my area now, and that their online shop is now open! Check out their website *here* and Facebook page *here* for more info on their products, store locations, etc.

Have you tried this product? I haven't tried a lot of sunblocks so if you have other recommendations, please share! :D
