NOTD and Tutorial: Newspaper Nails
Hi hi hi, everyone! I just wanna show you my nails this week.
I've always wanted to try out newspaper nail art. I was finally able to try it last week and I enjoyed doing it so much! At first I didn't get it to work but I got the hang of it after a few attempts.
Nails of the day with Caress nail polish in Attraction and some newspaper ;]
Read on to know how to do this cool and simple nail art! :)
So to do this you will need the following.
You will need alcohol, cut-out pieces of newspaper, a small container or cup, and your base nail polish.
Steps:
So as you can see, there's some paper on my nails and so I had to rub it off, making the ink fade a bit.
And when I applied top coat, some of the ink also smudged off.
Well, practice makes perfect, right? So I'm gonna do this again, maybe on a different base color too, and hope that it'll come out better :)
So... have you tried this before? What's your favorite base color? :)

So to do this you will need the following.
You will need alcohol, cut-out pieces of newspaper, a small container or cup, and your base nail polish.
Steps:
- Apply your favorite base coat to protect your nails.
- Apply your base color. It's best if you use a light solid color so that the newspaper ink will show up clearly.
- Fill the container with alcohol and dip the newspaper piece into it for a few seconds.
- Dip your nail into the alcohol for a few seconds.
- Place the newspaper piece on your nail, face-down. Press firmly in a rolling motion for a few seconds. (IMPORANT: Don't leave the newspaper on your nail for too long or else the paper will get stuck on your nails.)
- If you get some paper stuck on your nail, just rub it of GENTLY with water or alcohol. Don't rub hardly or the ink will come off. It's still best, though, to avoid this from happening because rubbing the paper off will cause the ink to fade.
- Apply top coat to make sure that the ink will not rub-off. (IMPORTANT: Let the ink dry for a few minutes before applying top coat to keep the ink from smudging.)

ReplyDeleteGreat! I saw a similar kind of tutorial on Tumblr a few months ago. I tried it several times, but failed. :(
ReplyDeleteI think the tutorial lacked some details because it just instructed me to place the newspaper on top of my painted nails and dab alcohol on it. Reading this, I think I know where I went wrong. I'll try doing this again soon! Thanks! :D
