Guest Post: 4 Quick Steps to Groom Your Eyebrows

If you're interested in having nice-looking eyebrows, then you may actually be going about your grooming habits all wrong or neglecting them all-together. If you're tired of messy looking brows throughout the day, use these 4 quick steps to groom your eyebrows.

1. Start by finding your brow shape. This is most easily done with a set of chopsticks and an eyebrow pencil. This can take some time, so be patient! Place one chopstick vertically on the nose until it meats the brow. You can either wax or tweeze any hair that falls before this line. Make sure to get rid of any hair that's growing between your eyebrows to get a polished shape. To find the edge of your brow, slant the chopstick beyond the other corner of your eye. The general shape of your brow may either be thicker or thinner, depending on your preference, but a clean shape is always a good idea so use your pencil to outline the shape of your brow before tweezing.

2. Fix what needs fixing. You may have extremely bushy eyebrows or ones that are barely there. For bushy eyebrows, use your tweezers to strategically trim and shape hairs and try to lengthen the brow. If your brows are too short, you can use an eyebrow pencil to extend them at the ends. If your eyebrows are very light or sparse, you may want to fill them in with a brow pencil. Use one that's a little lighter than your hair or just around the same shade. Fill in lightly, being careful not to overdo it as this will look fake.

3. Use an eyebrow brush every morning. When you wake up in the morning, your brows are probably a little messy. But, you can use a small eyebrow brush that's usually included with most makeup kits to get a smooth line. If you have thicker eyebrows in general, this is especially helpful. You may need to use some water to smooth out the area, but it's usually fairly simple to fill in.

4. Make sure to highlight your brows. If you have lighter hair, your brows aren't going to be noticed as easily, but you want them to make a statement. They outline the face shape and bring attention to your eyes, probably one of your best features. One of the best ways to make this happen is to use a clear brow gel or a cream. These highlight the eyebrow area without sticking out and will create a polished look throughout the day.

These are four easy ways for you to get perfect brows and keep them looking great every day. The key to good eyebrows is regular maintenance. Be sure to get rid of any stray hairs that appear by keeping track with a magnifying mirror on a regular basis. You may be surprised how much of a difference little eyebrow changes can make, and you'll be very happy with your look. Use these four steps to get great brows for every day.
