These are the new Bobbie Cocktail Hour Gradation Nail Polish Sets!
Do they look familiar? The first things that came to my mind when I saw these were Etude House's own gradation nail polish sets. Anyway, I don't know how many times I've said this but I really do appreciate how Bobbie tries to keep up with the different trends in nail polish. Aside from their regular nail polish line, Bobbie also has magnetic nail polishes, nail stickers and now, gradient sets!
You know me, I LOVE creating gradient nail designs! That's why I was really excited to try these out. I got the pink set, and Eyah got the blue-green one. Only two color themes were available that time at Landmark Trinoma. I'll update you if ever I see more colors available.
Each set cost ~P80. P80 for three nail polishes is not bad. But also keep in mind that these nail polish bottles are smaller than the regular ones.
There's 4 ml of product in each bottle, only about half the average volume which is around 8-10 ml for local brands, I believe.
I got mine in Pink Cadillac...
The set contains three nail polishes.
#1 - Shaker 1 (very light, sheer and slightly frosty pink)
#2 - Twist 2 - (pink with light shimmer and silver glitters)
#3 - Garnish 3 (chunky silver glitters)
To create a gradient using these nail polishes, there's no need for a sponge. You can just directly apply the polishes using the brush.
Just follow the steps written at the back. I do Step 3 a bit differently, though. Instead of applying from the cuticle to the center of the nail, I apply Twist 2 from the center of the nail to the tip, for a more gradient-y look.
1. First, apply base coat to keep the nails from getting stained.
2. Apply a coat or two of Shaker 1 on the entire nail.
5. Apply top coat to protect the design and make it last longer on the nail. At this point, the glitters looked messy, but after applying top coat, they became flatter and smoother to the touch. I honestly don't like how these glitters look.
Over-all, the set is easy to use. Applying the third polish required a little more patience, but I liked how everything turned out. Decent wear time as well. It can last up to at least five days on my nails (without top coat) without major chipping. I've had this design on my nails for five days already but it still looks ok. At first, I thought the glitters would easily come off, but once they had dried and smoothened, they didn't budge. I suggest you really use a top coat or else, medyo sasabit 'yung glitters kung saan saan. Haha.
So if you want to join the gradient/ombre nail polish trend but don't know how or what colors to use, you can start with the Bobbie gradation nail sets. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to use other nail polishes to create more gradient designs :)

And don't forget to check out Eyah's post about the Cool Blue Martini set too, ok? :)
I like that set better! Read Eyah's post to find out why! :)
