NOTD: Newsprint Nails with a Bubblegummy Twist
Hello, my dears. A couple of months ago, I joined a nail art contest. The theme was 'Newsworthy Nails,' and here's what I came up with.
About a year ago, I posted a *tutorial* on how to transfer newspaper print onto the nails.
This time, I decided to use a different base color to spice things up.
Nails of the day with Etude House Dear My Blooming Nails #4 and Look at my Cotton Candy Nails in CGR702, Caronia nail polish in First Crush and Sassy nail polish in Rainbow Glitter.
So sorry for the messy cuticles. I was in a hurry because I was trying to catch the sunlight. If I had known that the deadline of the entry submission was going to be moved to two weeks later, I could have submitted a better, cleaner entry. Lesson learned: Don't rush contest entries again. HAHA. Oh, and don't mind the newspaper background. That was one of the entry requirements :)
Instead of the regular neutral color, I chose to use a gradient as base.
Gradients are the only nail designs I'm good at doing. Haha.
I added the newsprint then topped everything off with glitters.
I think it would've been fine even without the glitters. I shouldn't have used a glitter top coat anymore. Oh well. The glitters added more 'twist' to the design, anyway :)

And that's it for my bubblegum newsprint nails. I should use the blue-purple-pink color combination more often! Oh, and by the way, I didn't win the contest. But it's ok. I'll do better next time! :)
Aya, how do you maintain the length of your nails? Mine break everytime I try to grow them.
