NOTD: The Hunger Games - Girl on Fire Nails
Heeeeeeeey! Yes, I'm still here! If you follow me on Twitter, you would know how excited I was for the release of The Hunger Games movie. I finished reading all three books months ago and yes, I enjoyed the series so much. Then I watched the trailer and became even more excited for the movie to come out! I got good chills every time I watched the trailer.
Last week, I watched the movie with my friend. I went The Hunger Games-themed, of course! I side-braided my hair and created a nail design inspired by the book/movie <3
My 'Girl on Fire' nails. Inspired by Katniss' red interview dress!
I created this design based on the book's description of her dress and the dress in the movie photo previews.
"...my dress is entirely covered in reflective precious gems, red and yellow and white with bits of blue that accent the tips of the flame design. The slightest movement gives the impression I am engulfed in tongues of fire. I am not pretty. I am not beautiful. I am as radiant as the sun."
Well, yeah, her dress in the movie looks meh compared to how it's described in the book, but wait 'til she twirls.
In the movie, there are actually gems on her left shoulder area...
Nails of the day with Elianto nail colors in Yellow and Bronzy, Caronia nail polish in Red Pearl, Wish gold glitter top coat.
I created a yellow-orange-red gradient using the sponge technique (same technique I used *here* and *here*) and then topped the design with gold glitters. Too bad my camera couldn't capture the glitter very well.
Anyway, I was very proud of this design. Very. I had to take it off after less than a day, though. I had to go somewhere the next day and I thought that a loud-ish nail design like this wouldn't be appropriate.
Hope you like it! :)
i thoroughly found her twirling as the most magical moment in the book and movie :D
ReplyDeleteDunno how many times I said this but I love your nail shape and your hands.
